I'm 19, I live in Upstate New York, (Near Ithaca, Elmira, and Owego). I've been involved in the internet world for a few years now. Particularly through my involvement in the Joomla! Award Winning CMS Open Source Project.
I was introduced to Joomla! by my boss, Steven Gorney, CEO and Owner of s-go Consulting, my current place of employment, and pretty much my second home. I became quite involved in the Joomla.org support forum. Having an experienced boss was excellent training for me, and I have learned so much from Steve. I owe him a ton!
In 2007 I joined GHOP - Google Highly Open Participation Competition. GHOP was a program created by Google that offered students (high school and college) cash for becoming involved in an open source project. I had been working in Joomla! for at least a year and a half prior to the competition being announced so when it was announced I jumped at the chance to earn some cash doing things that I had been doing for literally a year! I was able to complete 5 tasks, and was named one of the 5 runner ups in the entire Joomla!sphere, an accomplishment that I hold very close to my heart.
Besides my computer life I enjoy riding my Honda Nighthawk, and listening to a lot of music. I also play my drums. I have been playing for about 6 years now and am mainly self taught.
I am currently a student at Tompkins County Community College. I am majoring in (can you guess!?) web design! I hope to get an associates degree in web design by 2010-11 and be done with school once and for all!
So there you have it - a short but sweet biography of Chad A Windnagle!
